Mixed Media Canvas “Poppies”

Hello Lindy’s fans, it’s Ekaterina Zenevich with you today and I want to show you how I made these beautiful mixed media canvases with Magicals and Embossing Powders from Lindy’s.

You can see the step-by-step process in the video that I have created for you at the end of this post.

For the background, I used Magicals Rizzo’s Rowdy Red, Sandra Dee Sepia, Tears on My Pillow TangerineHibiscus Rose.

To start, I spritzed the canvas with water and then added a little of each color Magical to create a beautiful pastel background.  After drying with a heat gun I added a few stamped images to the canvas.

The stamped images are covered with embossing powder Midnight PewterPurely WhiteKaiser Russet Red.

Add some embossed images to the background and stamp, emboss and cut out large poppies from red paper.

Stamp smaller poppies on white card and then paint cut-out flowers using magicals Rizzo’s Rowdy Red, Tears on My Pillow Tangerine, Mango Mania.

Don’t all the different poppies look amazing with Magicals added to them!

Layer elements to create your canvas and embellish with more flowers and black pearls.

I have filmed a video. You can watch it below or on the Lindys Stamp Gang YouTube Channel.

Black and White Layout with Lindys

Want to create a simple black and white scrapbook layout, that’s heavy on the texture and draws attention to your photo?  Well, that’s what I’m going to create – so join me in having a play, whip out those sprays, reach for your embossing powders and have your embellishments at the ready.  Today I’m creating a layout using minimal color, Black, White and a touch of Gold (vintage, bright and matt) and the sparkle for this project (because you know it has to have some sparkle if it’s me!) is coming from metals (embellishments and embossing powders), shiny beads and my much loved Lindy’s sprays.

To Create this Layout

Begin by spraying, splashing and splattering Lindy’s spray Sidewalk Chalk onto a piece of 12 x 12 black card.  Add a total of 3 layers, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next – this results in more opaque whites and more interest to your background.  Don’t you love how you can use the chalk based Fabios over darker colors – I sure do.

Flick a little Bombshell Black and Grab a Guy Gold onto the black card.  Spray some cheesecloth or gauze with Bombshell Black and dry with a heat gun, then use Asphalt Texture Paste to add both texture and a little visual interest.  You might like to add a hint of stamping as well.

Once the background is dry it’s time to emboss some chipboard embellishments in Obviously Black, Purely White and Caesars’ Gold, my absolute favourite 3 embossing powders.  The color of the Caesar’s Gold is just stunning and it covers really well over pretty much anything.

Attach your photo and add the final touches – perhaps some brass embellishments.

A few beads or glitter …

A little twine to frame the photo.

Then step back, walk away – grab a coffee, tea, water and come back and see if it needs anything more – resist the urge to add extra colors.

If you feel it needs a little something extra, play with texture, shiny or matt elements even patterns – but stick to your chosen colors.  For example, instead of embossing your chipboard phrase, try spraying with a matt spray like Sidewalk Chalk for a similar color, but slightly different effect.

Autumn Mixed Media Layout

Hi Gang, it’s Solange Marques here with a gorgeous mixed media layout using Lindy’s Stamp Gang products. I’ve used  Starbursts, Magicals and Embossing Powder  to
create an autumn layout using mixed media techniques.

This is how I’ve created my mixed media layout:

First, I extend my photo onto the background using modeling paste and acrylic paints and I added some stamping for extra interest.

Next I applied modeling paste using a stencil and use Starburst Cajun Carnelian Red to add color.

I added a little brown using Magical Sandra Dee Sepia.

And on the title I used embossing powder Candy Cane Red.

I have filmed a video to showing how you can make this, you can watch it below
on the Lindy’s Stamp Gang YouTube Channel.

Watercolor effect on Acrylic Letters by KareenBH

Hello crafty friends! KareenBH here today to show you a cool thing to do with acrylic letters (or any acrylic shape) and the wonderful MAGICALS! You know that I like it when things are super easy and fast to do, this ”technique” is actually super easy!  Yeah Haha.

In just 3 easy steps you can have this beautiful page:

First step: Apply Gesso all over ONE side of your shape. Do that for all the shapes that you want to create a watercolor effect on.

Second step: With water and the Magicals colors you like, create a nice watercolor effect by playing with shades*.

*Add more water to have a lighter color or use less water to have a darker hue.

Can you have something easier than that?!

Look at the nice effect when you turn over your shapes. I really love it!

Here’s the little video showing how I make this.  You can watch it below or

Art Journal Page “This is a happy life”

Hi Gang! It’s Yulianna Efremova here with an Art Journal page, created with products from Lindy’s.

I used Starburst sprays and Magicals to create the background and add color to the image.

Glue torn paper to the background to create texture and then spray with Starbursts to add color.

Draw the face, coat with gesso and then use Magicals to add color to face and wings.

Color the page edges with ink and add a few splatters of white paint to finish.

Flash memory by Cindy Brown

Hi Gang, it’s Cindy here with a beautiful Layout made just for fun, with Lindy’s  Sprays  and Embossing Powder to create an amazing splattered background.

I used Sprays and Embossing Powder  to create my background. I’ve used the same products to create four different looks.

Basic Technique

  1. I used spray at first with paper to create a beautiful texture and background.
  2. I played with sprays again to add color to the flowers.
  3. I added Embossing powder for the little texture.
    1-ep2 EP.jpg
  4. I added a layer of splatters as the final touch.  I mixed the sprays with water to create splatters.1-splatters

You can see this process in the video at the end of this post.

The final result:

I can’t believe all the different color combinations and looks you can get with just one set of Sprays!
